British-born filmmaker and business entrepreneur Barnard Jaffier founded Jaffa Films in 2002. Barnard Jaffier has been in the film business for twenty years as editor, producer and director.
THE BIG BREAK:
Barnard Jaffier’s journey into film began with the production company Blackside Inc, the filmmakers who produced the landmark, Emmy award winning documentary series, “Eyes On the Prize: The Civil Right Years.”
Jaffa Films welcomes the collaboration with our non-profit production company. It’s mission is to serve…….. while specializing in social justice documentaries under the Jaffa Films brand. Community wide projects being undertaken are the West Harlem Digital Griots Program; The Artists Program along with several documentaries…. HAITI-AYITI: Blessed are the Meek, The Sweet Science; and A Journey Home to Harlem; all being produced under the umbrella of the distinguished Jaffa Films Entertainment banner.
OUR MISSION is to create films and media of intriguing content, passionately told to inspire new dialogue by combining unique and innovative storytelling. The artistic pursuit is to engage in storytelling of often underrepresented, and disadvantaged groups. The scope will essentially allow the African Diaspora, Latinos, Asians, women and other groups to be represented in film and streaming media projects. Jaffa Films addresses diversity by creating original and innovative social justice films which foster equality, action and new representation.
